PEOPLE'S CHOICE award

This barn inspired home has been designed as a gathering place for grandparents of a growing family. It includes a number of features for the elderly without feeling like a retirement home. No step entry from the porch, patio and garages. Each shower is curb free for wheelchair access and no tripping hazard. An elevator adds to the accessibility if the need arises. 

The primary gathering space is spacious enough for the entire family yet intimate enough that it still feels cozy when it's just you. It feels like one open space while simultaneously having many distinct pieces, the great room with its 27 ft vault and custom fireplace, kitchen, bar, dining, pantry (aka the candy library), outdoor BBQ and heated patio with a fire pit and spa. 

The grand master suite has vaulted ceilings with tongue and groove cedar and a window the size of a small country overlooking the mountains and backyard playground. Two fireplaces, a free standing tub, His and Hers closets w/ laundry, a panic room, urinal, make-up station. His and Hers offices which share a Jack n' Jill bath.  

Near the master suite is a casita/guest room that has a private bath, mini kitchen and laundry. This wing can be locked off from the rest of the family space for use by a live-in nurse, business visitor, or a grandchild. Three additional bedrooms round out the sleeping quarters, one with a fireplace, another with direct outdoor access and the final with bunk beds and room for 6 or more little ones.  

Two heated 2 car garages with shop space in each and a vented trash room. Two front doors, one for friends and family and one for business, each adjacent to stairs leading up. Across the two story entry is a bridge separating the master suite and offices from the sleeping areas of relatives.  5 fireplaces to keep it cozy and a cavernous play area for the kids, and Grandma too of course.
